ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly

  1. NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SITTINGS (6th May to June 2008)

The National Assembly performed its functions over the following issues:

  1. Reviewed and assessed results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget for 2007; and assessed the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget for the first quarter of 2008.
  2. Adopted 11 laws, namely:
  1. Law on Management and Usage of the States’ Properties
  2. Law on Acquisition and Requisition of Properties
  3. Law on Red Cross Activities
  4. Law on Atomic Energy
  5. Law on Value Added Tax (Revised)
  6. Law on Corporate Income Tax (Revised)
  7. Law on Promulgation of Normative Legal Documents (Revised)
  8. Law on Amendments and Complements to some articles of Publication Law
  9. Law on Amendments and Complements to some articles of Law on Vietnam People’s Military Officers
  10. Law on Amendments and Complements to some articles of Law on Petroleum and Gas
  11. Law on Amendments and Complements to some articles of the Law on  Drug Control
  1. Adopted 3 Ordinances: Ordinance on adjustment of administrative boundaries between Hanoi and neighbouring cities, Ordinance on adjustment of administrative boundaries between Ha Tay and Phu Tho provinces, between Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces; Ordinance on pilot allowing foreigners to buy and possess housing in Vietnam within a limited time.
  1. Debated the following 7 draft laws: Law on Public Affairs; Law on Nationality (revised); Law on Execution of Civil Judgments; Law on Health Insurance; Law on High Technology; Law on Biodiversity; Law on Road Traffic (revised).

The National Assembly of Viet Nam welcomed visits by:
