The AIPA Capacity Development Project which is assisted by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH will be organizing workshop and training towards the last leg of 2015
1). Workshop on “Networking and Outreach with Civil Society Organizations.” co-hosted by the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand in Bangkok, Thailand from 15 to 18 November 2015
As the first of workshop series on Networking with Civil Society Organizations, this is deemed as a strategic step to develop and enhance networking between civil society and parliaments. Supporting the goals of ASEAN as a people-oriented, people-centered ASEAN community is part of the objectives of AIPA as a legislature assembly to be translated into practical module being discussed through the workshop series
The Workshop aims at;
- Identify good practices and develop ideas together with other participants, which could prepare them to draft a “Policy Framework on AIPA – CSO Engagement and Outreach” which is expected to be in the theme of Workshop No. 2
- Develop professional relationships and networking among participants, who are presently involved and/or willing to be involved in supporting parliamentary policy formulation for CSO engagement and outreach.
Workshop series under this topic is expected to produce a solid networking platform for a close engagement between AIPA and CSO
2). “Training for Trainers on AIPA Intranet System”, co-hosted by the National Assembly of VietNam from 3 to 6 December 2015
AIPA Intranet System as a platform for knowledge sharing and fast communication mode among AIPA member parliament is undergoing development. 3 (three) related workshops to achieve the goal has been conducted under the Project since 2013.
A Training for Trainers for ICT staff of AIPA member parliaments will be organized in VieNam from 3 to 6 December 2015. The training is a follow up to the Workshop on AIPA Intranet System organized at Singapore Parliament in June 2015. During this workshop, the participants decided to adopt the Microsoft SharePoint software as the system to be used as a platform for AIPA Intranet.
The participants also decided on the vision of the AIPA intranet, which is “An electronic platform for knowledge and information sharing among the AIPA member parliaments where users can learn from each other and improve their line of communication,” its management structure, the classification of files in the document library, group of users, the responsibilities of managers and administrators, general process flow on user authorization, file uploading and review, and the composition of the AIPA Intranet Management Committee.
Trained ICT officers of AIPA member parliaments whom are assigned for technical operation and management of the AIPA Intranet System will connect and collaborate with the system administrator, positioned at the AIPA Secretariat from their national secretariats.
