Malaysia; Khalid: Hasan wanted to be Selangor MB
By TEH ENG HOCK
SHAH ALAM: Sacked PAS leader Datuk Dr Hasan Ali had actively sabotaged Pakatan Rakyat as he wanted to be Selangor Mentri Besar, alleged Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad.
He claimed then Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had agreed to appoint Dr Hasan as Mentri Besar if PAS and Umno had formed a unity state government right after the 2008 general election.
“There was about 10 days before the Mentri Besar was sworn in.
“A meeting was arranged to meet Umno, and I went on behalf of Dr Hasan under the instruction of the party leadership to meet Abdullah and (former Mentri Besar) Dr Khir Toyo.
“(PAS secretary-general) Datuk Mustafa Ali was with me,” Khalid told reporters at his office here Thursday.
