Signing Ceremony the Joint Declaration of Intent (JDoI) between the Federal Republic of Germany and AIPA, and the signing of the Implementation Agreement between GIZ and AIPA.

On Wednesday, 14th March 2018, at the AIPA Secretariat, Jakarta, a ceremony of the signing of (1) the Joint Declaration of Intent (JDoI) between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and AIPA, and the signing of (2) the Implementation Agreement between Deutsche Gesselschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and AIPA, was held to mark the continuation of partnership and technical support commissioned by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through GIZ, its implementing agency. This Phase 3 Project granted for AIPA comes under the banner “AIPA for ASEAN Integration” or “AIPA4ASEAN” aims to (i) strengthen AIPA’s Institutional Mechanism on ASEAN affairs, (ii) to support Human Capacity Development Plan, and (iii) to enhance the Capacity of the AIPA Secretariat.
Signatories to the signed documents are HE Michael Freiherr von Ungern-Sternberg, German Ambassador to Indonesia and Hon Isra Sunthornvut, Secretary General of AIPA. The second document which is the Implementation Agreement stipulating arrangement details of the implementation of the project, was signed by Deputy Director GIZ Indonesia, Mr. Zulazmi and AIPA Secretary General.
Among the guests attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Timo Goosmann, Political Secretary of German Mission to ASEAN, Mr. Frank Jattke, Project Manager GIZ-ASEAN Portofolio, Ms. Mai Tang, Senior Officer of Community Affairs Directorate of the ASEAN Secretariat, Mr. Bernardo Agawin Jr., GIZ Principal Advisor, and Ms. Oxana Paustjan, Development Cooperation-Attache of German Embassy.
With the signing of the two documents, the Project “AIPA for ASEAN Integration” commissioned by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for the year 2018 to 2020 was officially commenced.
