Visit to AIPA Secretariat by H.E. Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Indonesia

On Tuesday morning, 14th November 2017, H.E. Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat visited and met with AIPA Secretary General, Hon. Isra Sunthornvut. Aside from a courtesy call and opportunity to introduce himself as a new Ambassador of India to Indonesia, the meeting was charmed with the talks on regional cooperation, the importance for AIPA to bring the ASEAN messages to the people, and how AIPA is undergoing re-branding process while enhancing its engagement with the ASEAN peoples.
At the commence of the meeting Excellency Pradeep Kumar Rawat praised the transparency on the AIPA Secretariat financial information, even salary structure and its figures are published, which may not be found in other organization’s publication. Discussion covered number of topics that ranged from gender issue, migrant workers/free flow of labor to harmonization of laws and opportunity to consolidate cooperation between Parliament of India and AIPA.
India can engage with ASEAN/AIPA in a more meaningful level in the fields of health service, medical technology and high-technology (ICT). In the words of H.E. Pradeep Kumar Rawat, India can share its technology talent with ASEAN/AIPA, whose thoughts welcomed by Secretary General Isra Sunthornvut, with suggestion that a visit by AIPA delegation to India can plant the root of a more robust cooperation between India and ASEAN/AIPA
